 Stone restoration

Restoration of works of art and art-craft elements of stone carried restorers who hold the appropriate license from the Ministry of Culture of Czech Republic. Masonry and stone sculptor's work is carried out by experienced craftsmen.

 

Restoration of stone elements is usually done in the following stages:

-detailed survey, photographic documentation and the eventual focus of the work

-processing restoration plan

-gentle dismantling and transportation to the studio

-cleaning the surface

-removal of unsuitable accessories

-consolidation stone

-plastic supplementation damaged areas

-sculptural reconstruction of the missing parts in the corresponding material

-structural and color retouching options

-making the missing attributes, anchors, rods etc.

-retrofitting and any hydrophobic conservation

-restoration of a final report

-ongoing consultations with conservationists and representatives of the investor


 

 Restoration of plaster and murals

Restoration of plaster and murals done restorers who hold the appropriate license from the Ministry of Culture. Special repairs and stucco work are done by experienced craftsmen and artists.

Restoration of plaster and murals usually takes place in the following stages:

-a detailed survey of the status quo, including probe design and assess the pattern decorations in various stages of historical development of the building

-processing restoration plan

-scanning modern and too degraded overpaintings

-cleaning and fixing historical layers

-consolidation and completion of damaged plaster

-supplementing damaged cornices and other decorative stucco elements - cleaning, removing fingerprints for making templates and forms, pulling the missing parts of the shelf or missing parts casting decoration and fitting to the designated place

-color retouching historical paintings, in case of heavy damage to finish painting reconstruction

-final restoration report

-ongoing consultations with conservationists and representatives of the investor


 
 Wood restoration

We are engaged in the restoration of wooden sculptures and furniture historic churches, castles and other buildings and minor repair of historic wooden structures, doors, windows and more.

Restoration of historical elements restorers carried out with the appropriate authorization from the Ministry of Culture, craft overhaul and fabrication of new elements are skilled carpenters, artisans and carpenters and carvers.

Restoration of timber usually takes place in the following stages:

-detailed exploration, including exploration coatings, photographic documentation and the eventual focus of the work

-processing restoration plan

-gentle dismantling and transportation to the studio

-cleaning the surface and checking secondary and too degraded finishes

-biocide treatment of wood, where appropriate, consultation with an expert in wood-destroying pests

-petrification of damaged parts

-fixation polychrome

-review and ensure structural joints

-discontinuation of damaged areas

-plastered minor damage

-making a replica of the missing parts in an appropriate species of wood

-treatment fittings and other related elements

-retouching finishes, including gold

-preservation surface

-retrofitting

-restoration of a final report

-ongoing consultations with conservationists and representatives of the investor


 

 Restoration of metals

We provide restoration as metal sculptures of various metals and their alloys and special repairs of structural components, fittings, windows, doors and other craft and artisan elements.

Restoration of works of art and art-craft elements of metal carried restorers who hold the appropriate license from the Ministry of Culture. Blacksmith, locksmith, metalwork, plumbing and metal casting work is performed by experienced craftsmen.

Restoration of metal elements usually takes place in the following stages:

-detailed survey, photographic documentation and the eventual focus of the work

-processing restoration plan

-gentle dismantling and transportation to the studio

-cleaning the surface

-repair damaged areas - soldering, welding, bonding

-making the missing parts of the corresponding material

-patina surface, or other modification or gilding

-the final surface Conservation

-retrofitting

-restoration of a final report

-ongoing consultations with conservationists and representatives of the investor


 

 Documentation

Besides the physical realization, we are interested in doing the surveys and work out professional restoration documentation

In fact, it is:

-restoration survey and intention

-the final restoration report

-architectural and Historical Survey

-passportization art - or art-craft elements

Documentation can be devised as part of the restoration work, or as a pre-project preparation for the restoration of monuments without physical execution of the works.


 

 The craft

Apart from restauration of cultural monuments, we also do craft and art-craft works. These are sometimes part of the reconstruction of the monument or other object - eg. extensive renewal of plaster and paintings on the facades and interiors, making a new door or window object, copies of sculptures and other decorative elements, artistic castings of metals, manufacture of furniture or old furniture. All these works but can be carried out completely separately on private buildings to customer specifications. Our work usually follows the completion of construction work and concentrate on the final presentation of artifacts and whole interiors and exteriors of buildings.

All work is performed by qualified and experienced craftsmen, with complex sculptural and painting works in collaboration with academic sculptors and painters.

It includes the following work:

-copies of sculptures in stone, artificial stone, cast iron and nonferrous metals, possibly in artificial resin

-copies of the images on all types of substrates

-renovation and copies of historical paintings on all types of ground

-facade renovation and minor construction objects

-gilding

-making doors and windows according to historical patterns or customized

-repairs plumbing and decorative elements girdler

-reconstruction and repair of historic furniture made of wood and other materials

-custom-made furniture

-repairs and production blacksmith and locksmith elements (historic box locks, handles, bolts, window grilles, fences, etc.)

-repair of historic paving

-visualizing new designs and existing buildings
